General Information
PennMoveOut offers summer storage and supplies specifically for Penn students. Generally, students will store boxes of their things over the summer, but PennMoveOut, also, offers storage on a variety of items such as mattresses, futons, desks, televisions, bikes and more. This storage includes pick-up at your dorm, storage over the summer and redelivery of items at the beginning of the school year. In addition, PennMoveOut offers storage supplies, such as boxes and tape.
PennMoveOut is specifically designed to make storage easier at Penn. We will pick-up your items outside of your dorm and redeliver them to you at your new residence (even if it's the top floor of Rodin!) before classes begin the next year. Because we know Penn students, you can be sure you are getting the best service available (and the cheapest prices!).
How does the storage process work?
- Reserve your storage. Compete the "Order Form" with full information about contact information, pick-up and delivery information and a list of items that you would like stored for the summer. Note: If you do not have full information about your fall delivery location (dorm or apartment) we can gather that directly from you later.
- Choose your options for pick-up days and times.
- You pack your boxes (either boxes purchased from PennMoveOut or your own boxes).
- Print your labels and tape them to your boxes or other items.
- Our movers will pick-up your items from your dorm or apartment on your designated day and time and will deliver items into storage.
- Your items will be stored in a climate controlled storage facility during the semester break. Note: You will not have access to the items in storage (without additional fees) while they are in storage.
- Over the summer come back to PennMoveOut.com to choose your re-delivery day and time.
- Our movers will deliver your items to your new residential location (dorm or apartment).

What can be stored?
Almost anything! See the pricing page for the storage of standard items. If you don't see an item you need stored on the list, please call or email us and we will provide more information and specific pricing for that item.
Is there anything that can not be stored with PennMoveOut?
Valuables (cash, coins, and high-end jewelry), food, drink, liquids of any kind, any sort of hazardous item.
Where will my items be stored?
Your items will be stored in a professionally managed, and climated controlled facility in the Philadelphia area.
Can I store furniture?
Yes. Check out this page for a list of furniture items. And, if you don't see an item you need stored on the list, you can call us or email us and we will provide a price for your item.
Can I access my items while they are in storage?
Yes, but there is an additional fee required. Please contact us for more information.
Can I have items picked-up or delivered off campus?
Yes, PennMoveOut will pick-up and deliver items within one mile of the Penn campus.
Can I add items for storage on the day of pick-up?
We need 24 hours minimum notice to add items to a pick-up.

Where do I put my boxes for pick-up?
Your boxes and other items need to be right at your dorm room door to facilitate easy pick-up by our movers.
When will my boxes be picked-up?
You will choose a day and time for pick-up when you place your order.
Who will pick-up my boxes or my other items?
PennMoveOut hires trained, licensed movers to handle all of your belongings.
Do I have to sign in the movers?
Yes, Penn Public Safety and Housing require students to sign movers into the dorm.
Do I have to be present when my boxes are picked-up?
Someone will need to sign and release the items to PennMoveOut. We prefer that the student is present to make this authorization, but you can designate someone else to sign for you.
Can I have items picked-up off campus?
Yes, PennMoveOut can pick-up items within one mile of the Penn Campus.
Can I add more boxes or furniture for storage the day of pick-up?
We need an minimum of 24 hours to arrange to add items to pick-up.

Where will my boxes and items be delivered?
All your items will be delivered to the location you designate when you complete your order or when you provide that address during the summer.
When will my boxes and items be delivered?
During the summer you will come to PennMoveOut.com to choose your re-delivery day and time.
Who will drop off my boxes?
PennMoveOut hires trained movers to handle all of your belongings.
Do I have to be present when my items are delivered?
You or someone you designate must be present to receive your items and sign the delivery receipt.
Can I have items delivered off campus?
Yes, PennMoveOut can deliver items within one mile of the Penn campus.
What if I don't know my address for the Fall semester?
No Worries! You can add that to your information on PennMoveOut.com whenever you know your new address.

Does any insurance come with my purchase of storage services?
Your order comes with an automatic $100 of coverage.
Can I purchase additional insurance?
Additional coverage can be purchased in increments of $100 of value for $4. Boxes can be insured for a total of $1,000 per storage order. Other items (i.e. furniture) can be insured for upto $2,000 per item. Maximum amount of coverage available is $10,000.

Note: You do not need to purchase supplies from PennMoveOut in order to utilize the Storage program.
What kind of supplies are available through PennMoveOut?
PennMoveOut offers two affordably priced moving kits that ship directly to your dorm:
Basic Kit: 5 boxes (18X18X22) and roll of packing tape. Price: $29.99
Value Kit: 10 Medium Boxes (18X14X12), 5 Large Boxes (20X20X15), Roll of Duct Tape, Bubble Wrap and a Box Marker. Price: $49.99
How many boxes should I buy?
This completely depends on how much stuff you have. For most students, the Basic Kit (includes 5 boxes) should handle most things. If you want to split the cost of the Value Kit with a friend, you will get a larger number of boxes and other supplies for less per box.
How will I receive the supplies?
All supplies purchased through PennMoveOut will be shipped directly to students and can be picked up at your student mailbox or post office.
Can I buy individual boxes?
Yes, you can purchase individual boxes, tape and bubble wrap through PennMoveOut.com.

Yes, PennMoveOut can assist with shipping items from campus to all points throughout the US. Pricing is not available online, so please call and we can provide a specific quote via phone.

How much will everything cost me?
Our pricing is specific, and there are no hidden charges. Remember: storage services and supply kits are sold separately.
What are the charges for supplies and for storage?
Our pricing is specific and there are no hidden charges. You only pay for the supplies and/or storage that you need. You may buy supplies separately or buy storage separately. Our full price list is noted here.
How does the Early Bird Discount work?
Early Bird Discount only applies to summer storage. If you schedule your summer storage by April 25th you will receive a 10% discount off of your entire storage order.
Can I add items after the Early Bird Discount cut-off (April 20, 2009)?
Yes, you may add items to your order, but they will not receive the 10% discount.
How do I pay?
We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express cards. We can not accept cash or check payments.
When do I pay?
You submit your payment information at the time that you reserve your supplies and/or storage. All orders processed before Monday, April 20th will have their card charged on Monday April 20th. Any order processed after April 20th will have their card charged on the day of processing.

PennMoveOut.com is a coordinated effort between Penn undergraduate students and Transit Systems Inc (TSI) to provide Penn students with storage during semester breaks.
TSI (Transit Systems Inc.) is a relocation company based in the Philadelphia suburb of Wayne. For 20 years, TSI has provided shipping, moving and storage solutions to customers throughout the US.
